UNIT VS-01

Stand-Alone Sawtooth Groovebox.

What began as an inside joke—an unapologetic 8-voice drone built entirely from raw saw waves—rapidly mutated into an electronic powerhouse fueled by pure "wait, what if?" enthusiasm.

Under the Hood:
Custom Rust DSP

Mobile audio doesn't have to compromise. Saws All bypasses standard mobile limitations by utilizing a custom, cross-compiled Rust Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engine. This architecture guarantees zero-latency execution and sample-accurate timing, allowing the app to calculate massive polyphony, analog-modeled filters, and deep sidechain routing simultaneously without dropping a single frame.

Dancing Drone & Fuzz Saw Engines

The core of the app is the Dancing Drone Engine. Eight independent saw voices that you can sequence, detune, filter, and fold. Build massive shimmering chords or aggressively gated rhythmic arpeggios that automatically adjust to your chosen root key and scale.

To cut through the atmosphere, we built the Fuzz Saw: two dedicated Mono Synths (Pink for Lead, Orange for Bass), complete with dynamic ribbon controllers for sliding between notes that mathematically snap to your drone's scale.

  • 8-Channel Independent Sawtooth Drones
  • Per-track Bitcrushers & Analog-style Filters
  • Fuzz Lead & Bass with 16-64 Step Sequencers
  • Wavefolder mixing & colored noise blending

Drum Synth & Probability Engine

We refused to use samples. Instead, we forced raw saw waves into punchy kicks, snappy snares, and sizzling hi-hats using aggressive pitch envelopes and transient shaping.

Furthermore, we threw out the standard rigid sequencer grid. Define the likelihood of whole, half, quarter, or 16th hits, inject micro-probabilities and roll variance, and let the machine breathe organically.

  • Sample-Free Physics Modeling
  • Beat Probability & Roll Variance
  • Step Shift & Global Swing
  • Stereo Space Ping-Pong Randomization

Master Console & Bouncing

Glue it all together in the master effects chain. Dial in "The Abyss" reverb for endless ambient trails, or use the "Sloppy" tape module to introduce physical tape warble, wow, and flutter. The built-in Sidechain Pump lets you use the kick or bass as a driver to achieve that classic electronic breathing effect instantly.

Sequence linear arrangements in Song Mode, or map scenes to 15 custom cues in Performance Mode to trigger macro effects like Tape Stops and Stutters live.

  • "The Abyss" Reverb & "Sloppy" Tape Drift
  • LFO Matrix routing to drive, pan, & cutoffs
  • Debounced background autosaving
  • Bounce pristine .WAV files & 8-track stems

Audio-Reactive Demoscenes

Raw rendering logic directly mapped to the DSP thread. Watch your music.

Alien Ant Farm

A living ecosystem. The master BPM pulses the tunnels, while heavy bass hits speed up the Queen's gestation cycle as gatherers hunt surface slugs.

Pancake Heist

A cyberpunk diner runs on a musical clock. The BPM dictates the spin of flying pancakes, while bass hits intensify the stove flames and neon signs.

80s Dance Circle

Procedurally generated neon dancers bob to the tempo, dynamically entering a 3D dance floor that shifts colors using HSL math directly tied to the bass amplitude.

Synthwave Outrun

Your entire 8-track mix, visualized. The 8 peaks of the silhouette mountains jump and react independently to your 8 individual mixer channels.

The Catwalk

Turn your beat into a fashion show. The camera physically struts to the tempo, while low-end volume triggers randomized paparazzi flashes.

Rain Dodge

Use your phone's physical accelerometer to steer through the rain. When the kick drops, the storm intensifies—spawning faster, heavier drops.

Fireworks

Tap launch pads to fire rockets. The resulting explosion size and particle count are mathematically dictated by your track's exact volume.

Frequency Ring

Pure audio data. Reads the actual fundamental frequencies, volume, and filter cutoffs of all voices in real-time to excite specific bands of a 360-degree particle ring.
