At Ancient Apparatus LLC, we believe your data is your own. This Privacy Policy explains our approach to privacy for our mobile applications (including Verse & Voice). Our guiding principle is Data Sovereignty: we do not want your data, we do not see your data, and we do not store your data on our servers.
Information Collection & Architecture
Our applications are designed to function exclusively as "Local-Only" software assets.
No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not require account creation to use our creative utilities.
Data in Transit: Because zero data is collected or transmitted to external servers, no user information is ever "in transit." We map local operations cleanly within native device architecture.
No Telemetry or Analytics: We do not use third-party tracking or analytics software (like Firebase or Google Analytics) to monitor or track your usage behavior.
Device Permissions
To provide core studio functionality, Verse & Voice requires specific system permissions. We only execute access when you are actively operating the dashboard:
Microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively to record your audio scratch takes at your direct request. Processing happens entirely on your device hardware thread.
Storage/Files: Used to save your recordings, lyrics, and configuration deck data directly to your device's local memory path.
Note: Audio recordings and lyrics are never transmitted to Ancient Apparatus LLC or any third party. Your melodies remain yours alone.
Data Retention & Sovereign Deletion
You maintain absolute structural control over your files. Because your data is stored locally:
Deletion: You may delete individual recordings or lyrics at any time within the app canvas. Uninstalling the application will remove all locally stored database blocks associated with the app.
Recovery: Because we refuse to maintain central backup servers, Ancient Apparatus LLC cannot recover or restore your data if it is lost or if your device is damaged.
Third-Party Services
The application does not communicate with external third-party services, APIs, or advertising networks. There are no hidden "phone home" analytics cycles running in the background.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. However, our commitment to local-only data processing is a core tenet of our software design and will remain the foundation of our work.
